New (to me) 37 Legend owner with simple question?

So, took ownership of this 37 Legend, and am putting the main on, but am trying to figure out how the heck the tack is fastened. I can't seem to find hardware for it on the boat, or any diagram detailed enough to show me what I need. Is it possible that one of the other owners could take a few close in pictures of the tack of their sail so I can see perhaps what I'm missing?

Thanks

I don’t hve a Hunter, but there aren’t too many ways to tack the sail.

On my gooseneck, there are a few holes…and I put a shackle through the tack ring, and attach the shackle to the gooseneck.

I may use reefing hooks that also get attached on the same clevis pin or bolt that holds the shackle on the gooseneck.

Something like this…

Pictures of what you are dealing with would help.

thanks,

Greg

Should have a d-ring shackle in the top of the gooseneck pin.

Picture is on loan from the internet... with red arrow added for annotation.

Ok, this explains a lot... I do believe this is exactly what I have. And no D ring shackle there. I might know where it got to, tho... Guess I need to go dig through the stuff.

On another, perhaps related question, it looks like you have some black tape there.... above that there appears to be a couple things riveted into the mast.... Are those rings of some sort? If so, I am assuming they are there for reefing?

Thanks for the pic, it is quite informative.

As @kappykaplan highlights, that picture was poached and I don't know what boat it is from. I just searched "Isomat Gooseneck".

On my Legend 37, I have a pad eye riveted to the mast on the starboard side in that area that has a snap shackle on it, for feeding. So I imagine the boat in this picture has two... but I don't know for sure.

next time I'm at the boat, I'll try to grab a picture.

For Feeding? Feeding a reef line? or ?

As a side note, the threaded portion at the bottom of my toggle/gooseneck pin broke last year. In finding a replacement, I found that some OEM's used the snap-shackle for reefing, and others used a version of toggle with hooks integrated (see below). I replaced mine with the "hook" version. At the time, Catalina Direct offered the toggle cheaper than Rig-Rite... but now I see it is discontinued... anyway, just documenting here in case some searches the subject in the future.
