Alden 44 Air Conditioner location

Hi all - I have an Alden 44 and keep it in the Chesapeake. The admiral has requested that I add AC for the upcoming summer. I'm wondering if anyone else has added AC and where they placed the compressor? I'm currently planning to put it under the V-Berth b/c I can't find another large enough space for it elsewhere. My only concern with the V-berth is that is also where the holding tank is located.

Any wisdom from this group is appreciated.

I have an 82 Alden 44 myself and I just installed an 18,000btu air conditioner/ heat pump under the cockpit where the generator was originally. It’s a tight squeeze getting it in there and was a real challenge running the ducting.

thanks. I thought about that location as well - but you're right, it is very tight. I ended up putting mine under the v-berth. I lose some storage, but it worked out. The ducting was a pain

We are in Rock Hall at Haven Harbor South. Apparently, there is another Alden 44 in Haven Harbor North as well. I'm trying to find a connection to him.

that would be a blast. Let me know if you're ever up in the Northern part of the bay. Would be great to see another Alden.
