It is spring time. The sun is starting to cause the itch.

We got to get the boat in the water.

Do you really know your boat?

There is a US Navy tradition, practiced by skippers getting command of a new ship/boat - BEFORE THEY SIGN THE ACCEPTANCE PAPERS. They spend time looking in all the nooks and crannies of the ship/boat.

We private owners fork out gobs of cash, for surveys and short hauls to examine the systems. Have you ever spent the time to Open up every Void and space on your boat?

Get a good flashlight and camera. Look in and record what you see.

You never know when you may need to find something important that may save your summer vacation or help keep your boat afloat in an emergency.

It must take a long time when there is a change of command for the Abraham Lincoln or other big ship.

We know her very, very, well however, after three years we were still finding things we hadn't noticed before then.

I have crawled all over Tally Ho, removed covers, photographed all sorts of stuff…
I find it good reference when I am not at the boat.

I was really curious how much storage was in this box, that no access…so I cut a hole in it…
now all my spare life jackets are stored in there ( couldn’t find a photo of the cut out).

The Admiral cannot understand how I can spend so much time puttering around my boat :)

There's one place in the stern I haven't investigated yet. Need to either drop 40 lbs or hire a small child. Guess which will happen first.

Getting to know mine very intimately, as I do all my own work on her, still a few hole to inspect, trying to squeeze as much storage out of her as possible.
Great boat but a bit shy on storage space

I'm still discovering things on my boat. There are a lot of nooks and crannies... What I'm working on presently is discovering the nooks and crannies that reside behind all the finish work... That's a major job unless I strip my boat down to the hull ( I don't want to, got too much sailing I want to do first).
