Dometic Refrigerator Update

The new refrigerator is almost perfect. It was a little too tall to keep under the cockpit on my H240. Jessie and I decided to put it in the main cabin on the starboard seat, effectively turning the cabin into a galley. It fit and did not move around at anchor but I was not going to sail with it there. I moved the backrest cushion aft to provide compressor air flow. Having earlier added a shelf on top of the privacy bulkhead I fabricated an "L" shaped bracket to hold the refrigerator on the seat. The cushion is velcroed to the seat and the only movement issue is the refrigerator rolling over on to the deck. The forward carrying handle is under the edge of the shelf and will be lashed there. The bracket is removable by taking out two bolts. I have stained galley rail and will add to the edge of the brace effectively turning it into a shelf.

I got the galley rail on yesterday. I drilled it from the bottom and countersunk the screws. It works great. I will use a hold saw to put a 3 1/2" hole for a cup holder.

Looks awesome. How is it powered?
It will run off of 12/24 vdc or 120 AC. I have power at the dock and have two 20 amp multi plug terminal strips mounted in the cabin. There are two power cords and the receptacle on the refrigerator will only permit one to plugged in at a time. I have it connected to the power strip under the shelf. I have never used battery power as we are seldom out more that two hours at a time on the lake.

Neat! On our list.

I need to evaluate capacity and add another house battery. We are almost never plugged in.
