Anyone have a good picture of the 6’ teak rub rail above the windows? Or, have dimensions/drawing of the cross section? Mine are badly worn and need to be replaced. Have a plank of Teak coming that I can cut a couple from. Just need a better example. Looks like a sort of triangle. Or could be just a 3/8 x 5/8 x 6’ with a 1/8 rounded edge.

Yep — I have the old style (73) no such animal on the older hulls.

Those are shot for sure. But you are correct in their shape as there sort of a triangle. They are hard to keep varnished well tough. Many have either gone with a synthetic teak like PlasTeak or just painted a boot strip where they used to be after filling the screw holes. I do like their look but man are they a lot of work.

That’s considerably heavier than my weathered ones. Mine are 5/8 wide by 3/8 thick from what is left. I can easily make a heavier set. Just ordered a couple of 6/4 x7”x 7’ teak boards.

I'm pretty sure the ones that came on my boat were just like yours. Both in dimensions and in condition. I think they add a ton of visual appeal, and are worth whatever it takes to acquire and maintain them.

I'm envious of whatever machinery you have that can create them out of raw lumber!

Should be able to do with a tablesaw, jointer/planer and router table. Will know in a couple of weeks when I get into it. First attempt will be on some cheap wood. Aka 2x4 stud.
