Chocks for Danforth-style anchor on pulpit

I have a Hunter 38' with a double anchor roller. I carry a 25kg Rocna as my primary. I have a 16lb Fortress as my backup/kedge/mud anchor.

However, I don't have a good way to store it so its in a stern locker which is a giant PITA and obviously not useful in an emergency.

I'm thinking that some sort of chocks or bracket to mount it to the outside of the bow pulpit would be great. Then I could grab the rode, attach the shackle, and deploy quickly and easily.

Anyone use such a thing?

Since it only weighs 16 lbs suggest storing in your locaker and that will avoid anything hanging off the front of th boat. However, if you want to mount it you have some options:

vertical rail mount: Amazon.com : MARINE CITY Stainless Steel Vertical Stanchion Sturdy and Durable Polished Corrosion Resistant Rail Mount Anchor Bracket Holder for Boats Kayaks Ships RVs (Fits 7/8 Inches to 1 Inch) (1 Pc) : Sports & Outdoors. I installed one of these on my Hunter 386 for my Fortess but it scratched the bow pulpit rail and eventually removed it.

Fluke style: Fluke-Style Anchor Rail Mount | West Marine. I mostly see these and looks like a good option.

I had something like #2 on my Ranger 29, which had no anchor locker, windless or bow roller. It was ... adequate. It was a pain in the back to lean out over the bow enough to bring the heavy chain and anchor up and get the anchor in place to mount it. I was never comfortable with the anchor hanging there while in waves.
On my next boat there was an anchor locker, windless, gypsy and a bow roller. Mo' better!
I would put the Fortress and rode in something like a milk carton with handles and store it in the lazarette with the rode flaked and the anchor on top. In an emergency it could easily be deployed from the cockpit (Make sure the rode is over the rail) since the Fortress is light. After deployment the rode could be walked up to the bow and tied on the bow cleat.

Yes, that's how I store the rode currently, however getting that crate up through the locker opening is a pain, I think I'm going to change to a canvas bag or something similar.

I store my fortress on my second roller next to my #25 Rocna. Could send you a pic if you like.

There are anchor chocks that fasten to the foredeck to secure fluke anchors. I stowed my Danforth that way on my Pearson 30 for all anchoring. As for the chain and rode tackle, put it all in a canvass tote bag or other type that has a top zipper. Have it ready to attach to the anchor. Stow in the Lazarrett until needed, then carry up (only one hand needed). Veer over the roller directly from the bag. If not much chain not too heavy or unwieldy.

Please do. Where do you store the rode?
pm me if you can’t attach here

for other respondents, I’d prefer to store on the pulpit (if I can’t not the roller) rather than on deck.
I have the mud palms installed and hear different things about figment of some of the referenced chocks which is why I’m looking for personal experience.

TIA
