While going over my boat looking for rain leaks I also discovered a couple items that I want to replace.
Lifeline stanchions: 3 of mine have the little plastic cap at the top, one is missing.
Lifelines: the white covering is worn through where they pass through the lifeline stanchions. Is it best to just remove the rest of the covering, or replace entirely?

Stanchion cap: do an internet search on "lifeline stanchion cap" to find the one that matches/fit your stanchions
Lifelines: very time-consuming to remove the cover..........if it was my sailboat I would replace them with uncoated 316 stainless steel...........lots of options..........remove and take each to your local rigger for a replacement, meaure and purchase on line from any number of lifeline suppliers, buy a replacement easy DIY kit from Suncor Quick Attach™ Lifeline Kits Archives - Suncor Stainless, which is what I did.

Thanks Dave, I didn't know about the build list on the forum store. Looks like I'll need to put a few things on the list...

Time to replace those lifelines. In all likelihood the amount of corrosion beneath the plastic will be shocking. Good luck.
