Hello Catalina owners! I recently purchased a 1987 Catalina 30 MkII and the previous owner modified the table to me much smaller. I'm looking to bring it back to original specs and hoping I can just make it out of plywood and close to OEM design. I have the L-Shaped setup and with two kids I need all the room I can get!

Can anyone help provide basic LXW dimensions? I'm aware of the cutout near the mast pillar.

That- or would anyone know of one for sale? Thanks!

Here is a pic of my current setup, I need it back to original size!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new sailboat!!

Do an internet search on "1987 Catalina 30 salon table images' to see examples of salon tables. Then do a dimensional takeoff.

My recollection is the table fits in to make a bed right in that area, so there are your dimensions. Make it to fit.
Yes it does fill in the area to make a bed. I have slept there on the off-watch one night during a coastal delivery trip.

You might also state that you are looking for a Salon table for a C30. The Dinette layout on the C30 is U-shaped with a freestanding square table.

Thanks for the feedback so far! It would be nice to have basic measurements from a similar year, I'm sure there is slight tolerance so that the table doesn't squeeze into place and there is room for movement.

It's for-sure nice to have the extra bunk area, but be aware that the sleeping person is 98% likely to have their hip bone drop into one of the places where the multiple cushions fit against each other. Repeatedly.

We totally solved that problem, and the dinette is our primary bunk. We put a single 2" wide strip of non-skid between the table and the support ledge and the table does not move at all. We then have a non-skid placemat that we lay on the table and place the cushions on top with the joint between them going athwartship. We have never had a cushion move since we started using this method.

Hi
I am fairly new and have only had my questions answered. Hope I can help out with the measurements. I have a Cat 30 Mk1 1979. From what I can tell it seems very similar. Below are the measurements. My model has a cutout for around the center post. Three of the four sides have a molding (pictured). The side that mounts has no molding.

In my case, we have two adults with too much stuff, so I keep the table in storage under the cockpit and mounted a smaller table. With kids, I would need the bigger table.

Hope this helps!
