Do not put it inside the engine room. RTFM.
Where?
Outside the engine room.
I've seen them under adjacent head sinks as well as in aft cabins.
However far the harness plugs can reach.
Your boat, your choice. :)

Any place you want. Just don't cook it in the engine room.

My engine room is a Nike shoe box:

The Balmar ARS-5 is located on the bulkhead behind the shoe box.

Maybe beside your bedside lamp or maybe in the head ? ? ? I don't know.

Maybe if you could be a little more specific as to what problems you're having in locating the controller, collectively we might be able to recommend a solution. Make it nearby or make it far away by cutting into the wiring harness. The options are unlimited as long as it's somewhere on your boat.

I've got to admit here, I don't understand what the problem is.

ANY OTHER IDEAS ?
Uhm, you have a huge, 41 foot boat. Congratulations, but most of us just dream of that size. Absent a floor plan of your yacht, most of us are reasonably unfamiliar with the layout. We've given you the ONLY important advice you need: NOT in the engine room. Tell us watcha got around it.

Some engine spaces are confined with insulation and get quite hot. Not a god space if your running your engine for long periods.

if you have a spacious engine space and ventilation to keep it under 90 degrees F, then out to the edge of that space would be acceptable.
There are good amounts of wire/cables that let you easily put the unit out of the way but still accessible. You may want to change the settings if you change your battery.

Note if you sail the boat then the engine space should be cool. :waycool:
