Ok, new situation. I'm about to insure the boat prior to relocation to FL from ME. Should I inform the insurance company that the boat is gonna be traveling or just insure and move the boat? Is telling the insurance company that the boat is gonna relocate/travel on an 18 wheelers back gonna give me a higher price on my insurance premium?

Last but not least... What should the contract papers from the trucking moving company to sign should say/include and what not might be included?

Yes, inform the insuranace company you are: 1) transporting your boat and by whom, 2) where the new insurance location shall be, and 3) ask about any sailing restrictions in your new location.

Cannot answer the question on whether the insurance company will charge a higher price............likley a rider.

Attached are 2 sample transport contracts. Probably need to confirm what the transporter is liable for and for how much in the event of an accident.

When you get the boat to Florida, are you going to put her in the water through hurricane season or are you going to leave her blocked up until hurricane season is over. Don't the southern states have different rates depending upon your plans for hurricane season?

She'll be on the hard. I need to then come up W the $ to replace the engine, do the bottom myself... LOL, then to the water.

Check your policy.
Mine identifies a sailing area within which the insurer is providing coverage.

Should I leave the area/region with the boat, I am required to notify the Company.
