Hi all,

I just replaced my gel batteries in bank two, installed in 2007. I‘d say they were due but one had some life left because it was the last in line. Nice having all new.

That’s the old battery.

Now it is time to Break Them In. For maximum performance Gel batteries should be cycled 15 to 20 times to at least a 60% state of charge.

It looks like the boat was built around the batteries. How did you get them out?

There were some wood blocks we could unscrew and jiggle them out. I say we because I hired Treasure Coast Marine to get the batteries and install them.

Too difficult to monitor while anchored out and following marina guidelines for limited use of generators.
