help needed, cutlass bearing is the bearing going into the hull were the shaft is entering the hull ? if yes how do i know which one to buy before pulling out the sailboat from the water ? is a 2004 h41 ? on this forum i have 3 options can you help me ?

Check with Dave Groshong on this site's store as they have a cutlass bearing for a Hunter 41 Hunter 41 cutlass bearing (hunterowners.com). You have a 1-1/4" (32 mm) shaft diameter per the diagram on page 56 of the manual in this link: H:\396\OwnersManual\3968036A (sailboatowners.com)

The cutlass bearing is situated in the strut holding the shaft just in front of the screw. It is water lubricated. There is no bearing holding the shaft when it enters the hull. There is only a watertight fitting without shaft support. The shaft is only structurally supported by the cutlass bearing and the gearbox flange.
Very confusing to say the least.
Your H-410 should have the same layout as my H-310:
As shown, the shaft is structurally supported at the cutlass bearing and the the transmission flange. There is no shaft contact with the stern bearing. The term bearing is incorrect. This assembly is most often referred to as the shaft log. It is glassed into the hull and is rarely if ever completely centred around the shaft as would a true bearing.
