Or an old gps antenna connection. Or maybe an old LORAN antenna connection
I had four on mine. Two on the bow pulpit and two on the stern rails. Trolling in a sailboat is not an uncommon thing. They also make a nice place to hang your anchor rode for your stern anchor...
I like that cockpit table. It doesn't take up the whole cockpit. It looks like it is original? Two leafs would make it even better.
If we could put solar panels in fishing rod holders I'd guess we'd see a lot more fishing rod holders on sailboats.
On the H26, the cockpit table fits into a fitted recess in the v-berth and stows under the cushions. Typically it is out anytime I'm at anchor.
Do not recall since I sold the sailboat with them but they were cheap like a couple of dollars each with a stem that sat in the fishing pole holder. Check your favorite hardware store for them.

I don't know about that, but I certainly intend to drop and anchor and fish a hole for whatever is there. Crappie season is coming and that doesn't require movement.
