My Hunter 240 came with an installed mount for a Garmin ECHOMAP Plus 44. I am still in a learning mode. I never had a Garmin on a boat but I have about twelve years experience with a Garmin GNS 430w. The previous owner lived in Jupiter, Florida and didn't have the inland lakes maps card. 
I purchased the Lake Maps and I am very impressed with it. I have been keeping it wrapped in a cloth in the boat. I was telling my son and he suggested a cloth a bag would offer better protection. He said that he had a source but they were very expensive but of high quality. I told him to go ahead and order it and I would reimburse him. He was right. It works GREAT.
