My 21 year old Aqua Pro 310 is ready to be replaced. I am looking for a light inflatable that will plane with 2 adults. Light weight is a strong consideration, around 100 lbs. Any recommendations?

Welcome to the forum!!

Great question!! I will also be very interested in what 100 lb inflatable with what bottom (flat vs. v, double, aluminum, wood) and motor hp planes. In the meantime, you might find this article about getting an inflatable to plane: Why Won't My Dinghy Plane?Commuter Cruiser | Commuter Cruiser and this thread Question about why a dinghy won't plane | Sailboat Owners Forums See post #15 his dinghy that planes Dinghy: to plane or not to plane.... | SailNet Community This guy planes with a Takecat inflatable with 5 hp motor Inflatable boat 5hp planing with 2 people - Bing video

Two things I'll recommend: Get as good a warranty as possible, and see how many places around you do repair work on them (for post-warranty repairs). I've found out the hard way that even in the self-described "Sailing capitol of the world", Annapolis, there's exactly one inflatable repair shop, and they are awful (slow to complete work, unresponsive when calling and asking for updates, and the work is questionable).

These look interesting. A friend just bought one but is now only on his first trip so no review from him yet.
Does anybody have any experience with these?

Get a dinghy with Hypalon fabric construction. Don't get PVC. PVC is cheaper but nowhere near as durable. Achilles uses Hypalon material; others do as well.

Larger tube diameter, and deeper hull shape make for a drier ride. (Shallow hull shape requires the tubes to provide more of the buoyancy, so the tubes ride deeper in the water.)
My AB sat much higher and rode drier than my Achilles of same tube diameter. Also, in a RIB the tubes are more likely to wear on beaches if the hull shape is shallower.
