HI, all. New to the forum here. I need to replace the standing rigging on my Hunter H22, model year 2011. The shrouds have what appears to be a type of T hook at the top, where they enter the mast, and above that, there's an allen screw. Can I simply remove the allen screw and pull the T hook and shroud from the mast, or will I lose another fitting inside the mast when I remove the allen screw? Thanks for your advice.

Hey, John, thanks for the video. After watching it I went back to the boat for closer inspection. I have one T hook for the headsail furler and the shrouds are attached differently. Gonna try a photo attachment here. I'm dying to turn that allen screw but I also don't know what's behind it.

That shroud looks like a stem ball fitting. I suspect the Allen screw holds the ball plate in place. That is just a guess. The T fitting had several more screws holding the T fitting plate in place.
I guess I’d see if someone on the marina knows for sure before I released the Kraken.

Former dealer. Will you post a photo of the upper shrouds secured to spreaders and attachment of lower shrouds to mast. I sold a few before retiring but need photos to refresh my memory
Good morning, Dave. I'm told I have a US Spars rig, but have been able to confirm that with any markings or labels on the mast. I have a few photos to share to jog your memory. As I mentioned, I'm tempted to turn that allen screw near where the shrouds attach to the mast, but would like more info on what's inside the mast. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Following along with the guidance shared in the video about careful inspection. Plus the fact you have the mast down so that a repair is feasible even if it involves doing things inside the mast.
I am inclined to agree with you and release the allen screw. I believe you will be able to extract the shroud and the bracket holding the shroud in place through the hole in the mast by sliding the unit inwards and turning it sideways to extract it.
What causes my interest is rust and dark metal color, seen in the image.
I would have expected bright polished metal. Now that might be dirt and grease, but I would want to remove it and inspect the head of the shroud for corrosion.
Hey John and Dave, I was able to speak with Mathias at US Spars today, and along with you two, he was a big help. The only question he was not able to answer was whether or not there might be some lok-tite on the screw. I was able to remove the screw, and as John suggested, I turned the fitting sideways and removed the shroud head. Traveling tomorrow to a rigger to have 4 new shrouds and forestay built. Thanks again for your help!!
Before doing anything, the big question is why do you need to replace rigging??????
