I installed the Raymarine i60 awhile back and the apparent/true windspeeds are off. When tied to the dock they should be the same but they are not. They are off by about 15%. As far as I can tell the wind direction indicator is pretty close to accurate. Can this be corrected via the calibration process? The instructions in the manual ain't that great.

The Raymarine unit I had could be calibrated in the menus. But it was a little involved (i.e. pressing multiple buttons at once for a specified time to bring up calibration menu.) And what happened on the screen didn't exactly match what was supposed to happen from the manual. Some of the menus are for use by technicians I was told by one. Maybe find a video.
Do you mean both the apparent and true are 15% different from a known wind speed in your location? If so, what source are you using for that known windspeed and is it definitely accurate? If that’s the case then yes there should be an adjustment to calibrate windspeed, though I don’t know Raymarine well enough to know where it is.
If you mean the apparent speed differs from true by 15% then my guess is that it’s caused by refresh delays and some averaging that happens in the true wind speed calculation. For example on Simrad equipment the true speed uses some average of recent apparent speeds, so when there’s a very brief gust the TWS never peaks quite as high as the AWS.

The calibration process can be found in Chapter 7, section 2, entitled ALIGNIING THE WIND TRANSDUCER, where it describes motoring the boat head to wind, then accessing the USER calibration to align the pointer correctly, noting that this should be done when apparent wind mode is selected. Manual in link below.

That’s probably not a calibration thing then. Calibration would probably only affect AWS. More likely a delay or averaging in the calculation like I mentioned.
