Hi All,

I have been searching for nearly a month now on the best optionto go about refinishing the fiberglass sink in the kitchen and head of our Hunter.
The kitchen area has a small sink with a finished fiberglass countertop that surrounds it up until it meets the laminate. The head is a full finished fiberglass wrap basically, but I only want to refinish the sink interior, not the full panel.
The sinks look pretty beat up. My plan was to refinish the interior of each sink and seal it for hopefully protection over a long period of time.
Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to go about this and with what materials? We are just trying to keep it simple.

Has anyone used Rustoleum Topside?

I’ve attached some photos, for reference. Excuse the mess! Any suggestions that work for you would be so helpful!

I have on the slider and some areas on the cabin top. It holds it s finish well except
That it easily chips if something hits it.
Given your needs in the kitchen sink, I would look for something more durable.
Good luck.

Sinks present a challenge because hot water and soap caused most coatings to lift. Look for a professional product like Tile Doc from XIM/Rustoleum . They sell a kit. Takes a couple of days to finish. Area has to ventilated. Stuff works great. It is a modified acrylic epoxy formulated specifically for refinishing tubs and sinks. Kit was around $50 last I looked.

As long as you do not grind thru the finish layer of gel coat, why not buff it out?

Eventually we also want to re-do the counter top laminate and fiberglass areas as well. I’d like it to look consistent once we get to that part. Everything is being updated currently on the boat so we figure we might as do as much as we can while we have a mess already on ours hands.
