Hunter 25 Plymouth
Dear Fellow Sailors:

Would anyone know what the dimensions of a bimini are or how to measure the dimensions for a 1976 Hunter 25? I realize this site offers Biminis however I’ve found them at a greatly reduced rate elsewhere.

Thanks,
Mark

while our YC does have a nicely maintained H-25 in it, they have no bimini. There must be some strong UV to guard against in your sailing area.

As for cost, shop carefully. I have bought two dodgers over the years and one was was a tremendous value and the other turned out to be poorly designed and not worth the $. (the first guy had retired and moved away. Drat.)

Look around for references, and ask everyone you can find. Best to have it measured and made locally, if possible.
Good luck!

This project should use dimensions particular to your boat and your preferences. Look at as many bimini units possible (sailboats for sale type websites are particularly helpful) and decide what configuration and placement would satisfy you.... then get out the old tape measure and start gathering data. Any reputable manufacturer should offer instructions on how to measure your boat for the product. There's just no short cuts, imho. However, the effort you put into this part of the project will reward you with a perfect fit and hassle free installation and most importantly an end result you can be proud of. Good Luck.

Biminis are not only boat specific but depends on your preference regarding coverage. Below is how you measure for one. Be sure the height does not interfer with the boom. You can also contact on-line bimini manufactures and they will request specific dimensions for coverage. Good luck and let s know how it turned out with pictures!!

Not to mention keeping the bows away from the swing room for the winches, keeping the traveler and mainsheet clear, placing a window so you can see the mainsail and other details.

Speaking of getting the right "fit" for the bows, you can make mock-ups from thin wall tubing, like conduit. If you ruin a few pieces, no big deal. Pad the ends well where they rest on the deck. Lots of 3M blue tape may be involved!

Check with each on-line supplier as one or more may have already built one for a Hunter 25 and can confirmm the dimensions with pics.
