Bimini frame parts

My Bimini has a stainless steel screw with a plastic head where it attaches to the either side of the boat. This so you can screw it in and our by hand. I'd like to replace mine. Are they sold somewhere in the states? I checked at sailboatowners.com and they told me they don't sell the bimini for the H26. Sure I can find a normal screw and use a screw driver or maybe weld a bigger head to these screw placements but I thought I would check here.

Correction: :pimp: We do sell a bimini for the Hunter 26, but we don't believe Chiriqui has one of our biminis so we don't know the size of the part needed.

If you can determine the size of the threaded portion, it should be pretty easy to find that kind of "easy-grip" head.

Take it to any hardware store and they will have a gauge to tell you the size and thread coarseness. Shouldn't be hard to find them once you know the size

Look for a Thumb Screw at the hardware store while you are there.

Is this the part you are describing but with a thumb screw instead of a regular screw?

Instead of a thumb screw, you could also get a quick release

I'm heading back down to the boat tomorrow and I will definitely appraise the setup for this solution.. thanks

Some of the bases used a 1/4 by 20 bolt head bolt. Sometimes depending on the location of the boat, I simply drilled out the threaded portion in order to use a Clevis pin secured with a circular ring vs cotter pin

Thanks forbtaking further interest... I will try to remember to include photos in the future... Actually about 4 yrs ago I replaced the sunbrella that you sold me. I think I annalternste solution in the works... Again thanks
