Christmas lights?

We might spend Christmas on the boat this year which will require some decorating. Does anyone have a good source or experience with 12v Christmas lights? There are some listed on Amazon but quality can vary widely. We're in the PNW and it's gonna be wet, so 120v seems ill advised.

I've never lit the boat up so any other tips and tricks would be appreciated.

I use solar string camping lights for decorations. . I also have a set that use rechargeable batteries from big agnes the tent manufacturer. mtn glo’ is the trademark name. White for outside cockpit decoration, red for inside Night light.

My 120volt leds are outside for months in the PNW rain. No issues for when you’re in the slip.

And LED mini Christmas lights take very little power so a small portable 400w inverter will light them for the parade.

Unless you're going to be in a parade, just use regular outdoor house lights plugged into your shore power's 120 circuit. Parade people will often have gensets onboard....or and inverter.. since you're motoring anyway.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I think the good old 120v LED's will work fine. Sometimes I overthink things...

Lake Union is our home port. Tonight is an impromptu lighted boat parade. But, alas I'm rooting for my Trojans in the USC/UCLA game.

Do your Lights reflect your football team proclivity near the heart of Dog Country?

We didn't quite get the lights organized. We arrived at the boat last night around 10. Fortunately, the folks in the next slip more than made up for it!
