Forespar mast track

I am getting ready to install a Forespar vertical mast track on the front of my mask on my 1999 hunter 340. This will carry my whisker pole. I have 2 pieces of 5 foot track. I am not really sure how far from the cabin top I need to start the track and how far below that will l need to attach the stanchion. any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyoune

You want the car to position the pole level with the sail clew. I would add an extra foot downward to cover any new sail changes that may alter that position.
