Oceanis 45 Cockpit Lighting

Trying to solve a little lighting wiring mystery that has eluded me since we purchased our boat. Our 45 has the two overhead LEDs on the cockpit arch and two more down low near the cockpit floor. One is located on the forward face of the cockpit table console facing the companionway doors and the other is mounted right below the throttle/gear control lever. The overhead arch mounted lights work fine using the switch located on the cabintop in down below but the two mounted low have never worked. I've tried every switch in the boat and not a single one sends power to the leads for these lights. Are these supposed to operate when the arch lights are on or is there some other switch that operates these lights? Thanks!

On our Beneteau the cockpit floor lights are remote controlled. Do you have a key fob remote that looks like this -

Man, thanks so much! It's so weird to me that they would make these remote controlled. I guess they are boarding lights or something..... That also explains the control box with antenna located in the starboard battery box I couldn't quite figure out. Unfortunately, I do not have the remote. I'll have to determine if it's worth researching availablity or just re-wiring the lights to be switch operated. Thanks again!

Yeah, I think so. One of the buttons on the remote is a timer, so you could have them on when you’re closing up the boat and turn off a few minutes later.

Exactly. A little black box in our case.

Thanks for posting that. My new to me B 31 O has the same setup. Fortunately I have the remote, somewhere.

We often arrive late at night and the remote lights help getting aboard. There is also a yellow light at the base of the starboard cabinet in the cabin that comes on for interior lighting.

Dug around last night and the wireless control unit is made by Aqua Signal. Found a few links to the FOB online including West Marine but most appear unavailable for purchase.

You can get a DC/DC receiver and two remotes on Amazon for $22.

Search for "YETOR Remote Control Switch, DC"
