Bose Sound System Replacement

Hi Lee,
I replaced the flat screen in my 41 a couple of years ago and recently the DVD/CD player in the Bose 123 (or 321?) unit died. I didn't relish the idea of fishing new wires and finding components that would fit in the available space. The sound system IMO is actually pretty good with the sub-woofer so I decided to try to replace the original.

I found a new one after searching forever but the price was ridiculous. I found a used one on Ebay for a reasonable price so plug and play (but no Blue Ray). Works fine and included a working remote.

When this one quits, it will be a challenging wood working project to fit new components

Here is the issue:
The sound out of the bose is great, and it would be a pain installing a whole new system.
You can easilly buy a remote on ebay for cheap
Replace the origin screen for $300, with anything you like
The bose has S—video, or there is a component adapter cable
You can get an inexpensive box that converts component to HDMI,, and you feed in the audio.
Either buy a separate $50 blue ray player, or run it from laptop,
Or,
Just buy a new bose unit, which should adapt to your speakers. More money though

You can look at all the car stereo installations. From lousy to top of the range and 12V!
