1998 Hunter 410 Fresh Water Piping

My 1998 Hunter 410 has unusual fresh water piping. The tubing (hose) is a translucent white, semi-flexible material and the connectors are plastic compression fittings.

Can anyone tell me the name of the product and where to source replacements?

sounds like PEX. I don't like the compression fittings, since air leaks into the stream and allows growths. go with the expensive Shark-bite fittings.

Hunter was using fittings from Quest in the late 90's. Nice to work with and never had a leak. Source from big box stores or Amazon.

Can you post a picture? Sounds to me like it could be what's on my Tartan: polybutylene, or its modern replacement, LLDPE tubing, and Parker O Ring/Grab Ring Tube Fittings. I LOVE this plumbing system! After some attention I have it to where it will hold water pressure for two weeks or longer without the pump engaged. That is, no leaks! Easy to make modifications and repairs, and inexpensive. The only tool you need is a razor-blade plier tubing cutting tool, about $12.

well all I can say is my 2001 410 uses red & blue Whale tubing

Thanks to all. It looks like the Quest fittings. The Nut, Cone, and Ring picture looks like what is on my 1998 Hunter 410. The tubing I have doesn't look like PEX at Home Depot, but the MobileHomeDepot.com says the fittings work on PEX.

Note: Qest fittings do NOT work on PEX. The tubing must actually be 1/2 inch outside diameter. Half inch PEX is slightly larger, probably 15 mm.

I am going to try 1/2 inch polyethylene tubing, which appears to match the existing tubing. Got it at Home Depot.

Let me know how you make out, I have the same boat and was buying fittings at Home Depot but they don't seem to carry them anymore. The shark type fittings are great to work with. I much prefer those over the original quest.
