Tired Cowl Vents?

Got tired cowl vents? What did you do to restore or replace yours? Below is what my PVC cowls looked like after just 16 months so rather than paint or replace them In-kind I went with these reasonable Buchan Marine 4" oval stainless cowl vents. They came with 6 screw hole deck plate that had the same OD and screw holes closely matched the original PVC deck plate screw holes. Took about an hour to replace with butyl bedding tape.

They look very nautical.

When faced with the dilemma last year I went with a pair of Vetus low profile silicon Cowl Vents.

Good air transfer. Came with a stainless wire screen to limit bug intrusion and a steel plate to block access challenging water conditions.

Paint brush & roller cleaner. Works on dorades and fenders. Beats acetone.

They're 3' I.D and a little pricey even back about 10 years.

Today I would check out Ali Express for a lower price. Look carefully and you may be able to come up with 316 SS at a more reasonable price.
