We had one on an 85 28 with fixed keel, but the mainsheet on the bridgedeck.

We could unclip the sides, fold them forward, and clip them to an extra clip forward when running. That would let us ease the mainsheet without having it rub against the dodger. To hold the frame back when the sides were folded forward, we had an extra strut on the cabin top (that the arrow points to in the picture).
