Does anyone have a Bimini and/or a Dodger for sale that will fit my 30' 1983 Catalina? Appreciate any suggestions. Please reply to Stan at sgornish@yahoo.com.

You'll need to do a little more homework, my friend. Start with researching how Bimini's are measured... width, height, number of bows... etc. Then you'll be able to order one from just about any chandlery or marine canvas company. You should be able to finish the simple installation in an hour or two.

Now... a Dodger is a completely different challenge.... and I have never seen anything remotely akin to a "stock" dodger. There may be a few places that will sell you pre built one from your measurements.... but fitting it to your boat will be difficult to say the least.... because.. you have no experience in this area...and it will not look that good.

A custom made dodger for your Cat 30 will easily cost over $3000.

For a dodger recommend going to a local canvas shop that specializes in dodgers. There are lots of canvas shops near you. ou will be very happy with the fit. You can also go to dodger manufacture on line and install it yourself. I did this for my Hunter 31, albeit was not happy with the fit. For a bimini recommend going to a local canvas shop or this site or other on-line sites with your measurements and install it yourself.

I really like my custom dodger, from a local canvas shop.
It’s rigid, like a bimini, so no straps to deal with. All the clear panels are removable.
But, yes, the cost was around $3000.

Island Nautical and Sportech makes dodgers and biminis that appear to be good value for money for DIY'r's. Catalina Direct and Sailboat owners.com store site sells biminis and are also good value for money. The key to installing it yourself is to get a good fit up with the canvas and frame and ideally without straps as Kingjim91 indicated. The dodger I installed on my Hunter 31 had straps and never liked that feature.
