Hi Everyone.
I'm trying to find a storage lot where I can permanently park my Hunter 27 on it's own trailer. Preferably, mast-up near a marina with a travel lift for launching. I'm only going to be able to use the boat 3-4 times a year, so I don't want to leave it in a slip collecting bottom yuk.
I've used the WG Marinas Map of the Atlantic to locate several suitable marinas if I was going to move to the area, but info on storage lots is sparse, at best. A Google search just brings up the self-storage lots for household belongings, etc.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

There may be one or two in or near Hilton Head Island but I'm not sure about that. As far as sailboats are concerned there are two places in/near Beaufort SC that might be appropriate. The first is Marsh Harbor Boatworks. It is a yard with a large travel lift but it would seem to be pretty expensive to pay a travel lift for putting a boat into the water from a trailer rather than just good bottom paint and keeping it in a slip or on a mooring. There is also a storage/work yard at the former locatoin of the Dataw Island Marina (which was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew, Marsh Harbor would have the number for you in you need it). If you have your own trailer, why can you not just launch and retrieve it yourself as long as you can store it near the ramp with the mast up? The Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club (BYSC) has storage areas where a boat can be stored with the mast up and a launching ramp with deep water at or near high tide. Send me a pm if you like and I'll give you my phone number and maybe help you research a little.

When I bought my H23 in 2010 I picked it up from a marina in Georgetown that had a travel lift. I’ll see if I can find which one it is. They were nice folks.

Thanks smokey73. I'll give BYSC a call next week and see what their rates and availability are.

Hazzard Marine is the marina where I picked up my boat. Ask them what your options are for storage.

Georgetown Landing Marina is where the boat lived in a slip before I bought it.

At $75 a day for yard storage, I think Hazzard Marine is a bit out of my price range...
How far is Georgetown landing from the coast? I was looking at getting a slip at Osprey Marina but it's too far to the ocean and they also are all full up now due to the favorable reviews in WG and from a youtube vlogger.

Thanks Kermie

Georgetown Landing is on Winyah Bay. A quick look at map shows it’s quite the distance to open ocean.
