Music on the water

A new trend on Wayzata Bay. Well-to-do property owners are now holding benefit concerts for their favorite charities and foundations. Usually big donors get in land-side, but they put a water facing stage for boats to raft up and listen. In the last year we're had The Zac Brown Band, Tim McGraw, and a few night ago, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Free Bird!

Freaking awesome!! On weekends at our marina, we can hear live music from three different venues but nothing in comparison to what you are experiencing.

I showed the Mrs. and she's been watching L/S for the last 20 minutes. Nice memories. Again a band that could get up there and play. Serious guitar playing. I used to be able to play all those licks in the air in my dorm room. Now I would need Advil.

All or at least most of the bands from the classic rock era that still perform, hardly have all the original members. Fortunately for them it is not for the sad reason that hit the Lynyard Skynyrd Band.
Great video jackdaw, wish we had the same here in Jersey. But alas the noise ordinance would get in the way. That would also attract the clowns from NY that seem to gather here through the summer.

As it was at night they had to stop playing at 11pm. Daytime, they can jam all day. Here is the aerial shot from Tim McGraw the weekend before. Popular guy. The Water Patrol actually set up mooring lanes for boats to anchor. Some boats in the first row got there 2 days before.
