I think they'll be mowing around that boat for some time. And then they'll stop mowing and the brush will swallow it. Some poor shulb will make an effort but it's futile - full of mug daubers and critters. My prediction is that the hull will never get wet again. Put it out of it's misery.

I kinda like them both. Clear, concise and to the point. If you want more info, (which neither obviously has) call to come look for yourself. Not a lot of BS, lies, and hype.

Talk him down to $700, sell the trailer for $700, the O.B. for $200, the winches and other hardware for another $200 and by the time you are all in, you might have earned yourself $3/hour for your troubles.

I’ve actually sailed quite a bit in Arkansas. And while there are many very nice boats and conscientious sailors, the vast vast majority of them look like they were on their last legs. Walking the docks I’ve never seen so many decrepit sailboats. Seems like 80% of the country sailboats go there to die.

You could show up with 1/2 asking price and talk either of them out of those boats just showing them everything that needs to be serviced. You would still be overpaying! :)

I figure any second spent contemplating buying that boat is overpaying.

The trailer on the first looked decent in the pics...

That was my one second. Done

"Beauty is in the eye of the Beer Holder"

My wife and I actually drove to Connecticut from PA to buy a Celebrity Class sailboat that had been advertised on CL. It had been dismasted while on a mooring. Gladly paid the asking price of $200 for the boat and the trailer that carried the boat back to PA. I told the owner to keep the mooring (which he planned to include in the sale) because he had more use for it than we did. Later, (using a CL ad) I sold the trailer to a man who just wanted a trailer for launch and retrieval of his boat at the lake where he lived. Restored that Celebrity and enjoyed sailing it for three years before selling it. BTW....another $200 Celebrity is in the barn. Dang! We like those boats!

Afterthought: We sold MARA our 1986 Caliber 28 by advertising here on Sailboatowners, on sailboatlistings, and on CL. Sold in one day to the first person who came to see it!
