Congratulations Andrew. Is the 272 staying local? Finally got some decent weather this weekend, good time to get things going on our boats.

Yes. After fielding interests from California to Miami to Michigan, the new owners are a lovely couple from Elmira! They were the proverbial Early Bird, having bought her in early March. Happily, they will be one dock down from me in Watkins Glen! They are new to a keel boat, so I have promised to see them through commissioning, launch, and sail. I want the boat to be proud of them and them proud of the boat! I am excited for them. I will, of course, out-pace them in my Trimaran, but they are getting a fine vessel.

To think that boat is 31 years old this season....

And what boat is that I see in the reflection?

:p
My friend’s O’Day 26! I bought that for him and sold it to him 4 seasons back. Wonderful boat! We hope to have a 40 x 40 shop where that boat sits by Fall! No more cold temps while doing Spring commissioning. Ahhh

Good catch, by the way! My friends call this “Andy’s Boat Yard!”

Stands, tools, skills... just a labor of love with lots of beer and profanity mixed in!

I’m not sure which is more important to getting the job done right!
Probably labor first... then profanity because that just happens with ever nick, cut, scrape... then beer. Heals all the scrapes.

Thanks! You saw my Telstar. We did a fine job on that 272 over 4 seasons. Now we belong to the non-heelers” with our Trimaran.
I sure did see it. It’s a fine vessel. You would have slept through our sail today. We maxed out at 6.3 knots SOG. But it was loads of fun!
