Nice use of the old ski's! I have some old downhill stuff that is seriously obsolete and now I see there is some use.

My windsurfing days ended over 15 years ago.. so long ago I cant even remember exactly when LOL.. I still have the favorite boards but they no longer see the water. This one saw a lot of time on the Columbia river near Hood River OR.

I see that done at the ski bases and at our local shop. I sold my last pair of Head 'Hots' on craigslist a while back. For as little as I ski anymore, I just rent the latest technology.

Pretty sure I still have a pair of the wife's K2 "Cheeseburger Deluxe" and my old rock ski's equipped with Marker "Leg Breaker" bindings in the basement, maybe we could start a museum ?

Got rid of my skis some time ago. Kinetsel (sp) Super White Stars 235’s. They didn’t start chattering till you hit 60+. Of course it didn’t feel good when I tore out the edges.

Was 235 the length? Those were some long *ss skis. I'm 6' and an aggressive skier. I don't think I ever had over 225 or maybe even 215 Head 360's. But I have to say if you want to put the petal to the metal, a long stiff ski is what you want. You must have been a western skier because in New England you wouldn't be able to turn those boards fast enough to to keep your chin from the bark.
Launch the boats already.

Ah yes, the days of the long boards were great! I was 5’ 7” and skied on Fisher 210 cm. No one could catch me. Now I’m 5’ 6” and on the short 175 cm “shape” boards. Still Fisher and still hard to catch :dancing:

Any thing under 215 chattered so bad you couldn’t ski fast. So yes 235 was the length. Skiing moguls with them required perfect timing. I even had a pair or two of long thongs that my dad tore his knee apart with. ~6’ of rawhide you wrapped aroun you boots. When you fell you hoped your ski broke in two rather than your leg. No safety

Getting off the ski topic. I’m sitting on the patio listening to James Taylor accompanied by 1000’s of @Kermit relatives. Some how they sound good even if they can’t carry a tune.

I used the light colour Rossi's in the center of the chair for about 30 yrs. After management informed me she would rather I rent modern technology I decided to recycle. The last time I used them I was at Killington. Git in the elevatre to go it, staff member riding down with us..." So, you like skinny skis, huh" ? I replied " yup", all puffed up and proud. " Yeah, we find a lot of them in the parking lot every spring"!! It made the day for the rest of my crew in the elevator!!!

John claims my lovely bride of 34 years is a frog whisperer. He bases this on the fact that she was talking to them while John was here. She was trying to get them to be quiet. So John figured I was a frog (or pig) when she met me and one kiss turned me into the suave person I’m now.

@Kermit hands off I want another 34 years!!!

My wife hates leaving home from the beginning of Spring through mid Summer. First, it's the wood frogs, then it's the Spring peepers, followed by tree frogs and the longest are the green frogs. Towards the end is the long bright trill of the toads. Each has its own voice and we sleep with the windows open just so we can listen to them.

In the small pond just below our bedroom window. We often hand feed them and they will jump up onto our hand to get a worm.

Hello Walt,
Is that a Seatrend up on your ceiling? If it is, I have the same, bought in 1998, stored in my garage (in virtually brand new condition). I stopped windsurfing around the year 2000, almost like turning off a faucet. The shape and the markings look familiar, but I haven't looked at it closely in over a decade! Mine is an Accelerator 275, which I didn't like as much as a few other boards I had.

Its an F2 and I think 272 cm long and around 90 liter volume, had a sweet spot with about a 5 square meter sail. It was huge fun in a certain wind range but.. sucked outside of that wind range (slogging or getting hammered). It was somewhat of a relief when I finally got over the windsurfing addiction (only took about 15 years to happen).

This picture was taken yesterday around sunset

Here you go. I didn't recognize the design on the rails as F2. My Seatrend has something similar and the rocker looks similar, too. But I thought that looked like an F2 logo on the tip. I had an F2 Axxis 275 from that era. It was a wickedly fast board, but it took a while for me to find the right fin, which really helped make it jibe smoothly. Unfortunately, just when I had it dialed in, I lost the board off my roof rack on the NJ turnpike during our trip to Cape Hatteras. It broke in half as it glanced off the car behind me. Luckily, nobody was hurt and damage to the guys car was minimal. He was cool, I was pretty shaken up thinking about what could have been and I paid for the repair to his roof. That's when I bought the Seatrend Accelerator (I can't find a picture of it on-line), which I never liked as much as the F2. The F2 was bomb-proof, light and fast!
I had an earlier Seatrend (1992 9'0" - one of the classics), my first "short board". That one is also still in my garage. With a little tread grip, it will sail just as well as new.
I really miss windsurfing, but I was a pretty selfish SOB in those days with my obsession for it. Basically, it finished off my 1st marriage. It's a solitary sport and it caused me to spend a lot of time separated from family.
