I have a 2008 Beneteau 43, dual wheel. The MFD is located mid-ships, below the dining table, and swivels depending upon which wheel you are using. I intend to upgrade from the Raymarine e120 MFD to latest Raymarine MFD. The challenge is the location, it doesn't work for me. I am 6'5" tall and the angle to view is not good. The swivel pod does not lock in place anymore and will often swivel to opposite side at most inconvenient times. I have scoured the internet for dual wheel mounting options to no avail. My goal is to raise the location, maybe just a bit higher than the dinning table, still have ability to swivel depending on which wheel I am using.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
DW

Locating the MFD below the dining table sounds odd to say the least. I prefer it at the helm.

I assume you were 6’5” when you bought the boat and checked out the MFD location.:) I am 6’3” and that swivel mount works just fine for me when I have to use one. It is actually a pretty good location for these dual-wheel boats, which is really part of the compromise. I have seen some guys mount two MFD, with one a repeater at the other steering station. Boy is that a bunch of nonsense. Both Garmin and B&G offer bigger MFD that make better use of the nav pod dimensions, giving you more screen and improved viewing. Take the opportunity to fix that swivel feature, it really is important. In the meantime a bungee cord will lash it in place.

If your setup is a swivel Navpod....could you move it to the top of the table?
