Sorry to see January go...

Yes. There is one, and only one reason why I'm sorry to see January go. For those of you that have the 2018 Wooden Boat Calendar, the January picture was so heart warming that I miss it already. I could look at that picture in my office, with my feet on the cold floor, and almost feel the warm breeze. Not to mention Midget is one beautiful sailing vessel. Simple and elegant at the same time. That's sailing as pure as it gets. February is a beautiful picture too but it can't hold a candle to January. First of all, as boat photography goes I always prefer a boat in motion. You have to see how the hull is interacting with the water. Second, tropical water trumps northern water. And I guess I have a thing for small boats. I may find a place on the wall for that image!

Anyway to post the January image? I'd love to see it.

It's too big for my scanner. I tried several website and didn't see that particular image. Open for suggestions. Hamilton Marine had the calendar for $10.

Perhaps this one will help you over the loss.
She is one of Nat's finest, schooner Elena, passing us like we were standing still (we were doing 7+ knots!), as we both rounded the NW corner of Union Island.

OK. This is from my cell phone. I'm not sure the water's color came through but looking at it got me through January - the longest month.
It's from the Wooden Boat Calendar. The photographer is Benjamin Mendlowitz, who work I became familiar with
at the Newport Museum of Yachting.

It's like Winslow Homer took that photograph. Fantastic picture.
That's what it was like sailing my pram around Clearwater Bay as a kid. Puts me right back at the tiller again.

@shemandr - Thanks for posting a pic of the pic. Any chance you can put it in as a thumbnail, so I can view it full size? As posted, it does NOT enlarge.
