I can't believe it was still moving water! Just goes to show what a few years of deferred maintenance will get you. The boat sat for 3 years before I purchased it, but she is breathing much better now.

did you try heating the new hose in very hot h 2 0 with dish soap in it before trying to force it on ? that heat expands the hose and this trick seems to work with just about any hose...

Where did you find this fiberglass fitting?
I will be absolutely buying one along with a new elbow as well.

I was able to get the hose on after using a pipe expander and some creative winching.

Those fittings are superb. Years ago the first few feet of my exhaust hose off the muffler was going south. I cut it off and bought one of the 45 degree angled ones, put a short new piece of hose in and used the angle as a butt connector to the older OK section of hose. Worked fine for many years.
