Was waiting in line, I was browsing the Farmers Almanac which has an identical albeit vague prediction. I wonder if that's where NOAA gets their science.

Funny you should mention acorns. I was walking my dog in the woods the other day and sure enough I had trouble finding a single acorn in a stand with not a single pine. Last year this time it was like walking on ball bearings. We can hope....:)

Where I am, I can handle wetter than normal. What I really don't care for is wind. We have had some real wind events this year.

Maybe the squirrels knew that this was going to be a tough winter and they swept in picking up the acorns hiding them in the tree trunks.
