Greenwich, RI damaged boat identity

Bristol 29.9 Dana Point
This came up in a Bristol forum on FB.
It was initially thought that the storm-damaged boat in the picture, obtained via a news report, was a Bristol. However, closer inspection showed a cored or lined hull at the bow, a too short headstay chainplate, and most conspicuously, nav lights in the hullsides. Much discussion followed, with no final determination.
I thought it might be a 70's Tartan 34, but the bottom looks different(?)
It seems it was popular in the 70's to put the nav lights in the hullsides.

Can anyone positively ID the boat from this one picture, or anyone near Greenwich who might know this boat and the mfg, or have a side shot picture?

This is only a curiosity mission. :)

Don't know about the type, but the picture reminds me a shark with an open mouth.

She does look to be 70's Tartan, but not a 34; most 34s in that year were fit with a thinner, more elongated fin keel which had an extremely triangular shape. This layout was the "new fast" and it almost every keelboat manufacturer used this design all the way through the late 80s. They did, however, fit the 32 and 30s with more classically designed fin keels which ran a little longer length, were thicker, and were a bit more hardy. I'd say she's either a 30 or 32, as our Sea Scout Ship owns a '70 T30 racer and I became quite familiar with her while restoring her.

Here's some 70's Tartan 34's.
I don't see the elongated triangular keels.
Also I don't think Tartan made a 32 footer. Are you thinking of Ericson?
They had some triangular keels.

That would be a good boat to paint the bow like the Flying Tigers front end.

Currently looking Sail Cranston, Rhode Island
It's a 1966 Tartan 37 named The Catherine Ann...it was the 29th built. It's normally at the RIYC but was getting hauled out for the season in East Greenwich. My buddy Joe owns it, he went down and double tied it and added extra fenders before the storm. From what I've heard the dock in front of it broke loose and bashed the hull. Pitty, since Joe had just gotten new sails and painted the bottom and it really hauled butt....

Thanks for the info.
I hope it can be repaired.
