Here's the ST60 unit I removed as it normally appears.
Ah, that's interesting. The barrel of the transducer unscrews in the middle, right? Its not sealed in anyway? If that's the case I guess I can take a look inside and see whats going on? Thanks for taking the time to do that.

It does not screw; it's close tolerance push-in; i.e., friction. If you pull it apart as shown, you'll break what is left of the wires. It'll be kaput!

Not entirely true; I just replaced mine a few weeks ago. The paddlewheel (transducer) and blank fit the existing thru-hull perfectly.
Correct, the EBay item and the photos you posted show a transducer identical to the current one I have.

Whoa! Stop both engines. The photo and link that Kings Gambit posted is for an Airmar ST800 Smart Sensor. That is a speed and temperature sensor. Your original post states speed and depth and if so then it will also have the temperature function. This sensor (transducer) is know as a triducer and is an Airmar DST800 Smart Sensor. It comes in both a NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 version.
Determine your model accurately, as Raymarine and Airmar part numbers/models/etc can really make things confusing.

Thanks for pointing that out, the display at the helm is a ST60, I thought ( possibly wrongly ) there is another transducer for depth, to be honest Ive not taken much notice - When it needs replacing I will do as you say.
