BULKHEAD REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT ODAY 222

The chain plate on the starboard side of my Oday 222 ripped off the bulkhead and through the deck last week during the hurricane. I would like to replace the bulkhead but I am concerned about getting the old bulkhead out in tact so that I will have a template to make a new bulkhead.
What is the best way to remove the old bulkhead? I see the bolts and screws but not sure if it is glued or epoxied to the ceiling of the cabin.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I replaced the bulk head on my Seaward. I replaced it with a fiber board that was not affected by water. We cut the bulk head in half to remove and then had to cut the new bulk head in half as well. A chain plate leak caused the failure of the old bulk head. Did you have insurance? It was pretty expensive and may not be worth it.

I'm amazed you didn't lose the mast. The 25 is tabbed in to the hull middle of the bulkhead and that has to be cut tp remove. Keep all the pieces for the template after it is removed. Lots of people have done it so it is a DIY job but takes time.

Removed the bulkhead today with the help of a friend. Super easy. Took only about an hour.
Now I need to work on the replacement. Am considering marine plywood or teak plywood. Any opinions?

Either would be fine, just comes down to cost.

I used a composite. It came out very nice, I caulked it in with Life Caulk, primed and Painted. Super strong and no more worries about water / rot.

It was sent cheap, but the boat had leaky porthole windows. It was going to take 6 hr per windows for repair.

I did the se thing last year on my 222. Mine was not gluedin at all. Their were a lot of screws in of places. The only place where they were glued in was behind the bungs. I drilled out the bungs and replaced. It makes it easier if you have up the headliner a little to take the pressure off. I hadno problem siding out the old bulk head. When you take out the bulkhead check the deck for rot, I had a little to take care of.
