Anyone have any tips or procedures for replacing the 13 ft. exhaust hose. will it be easier to feed from the motor or the stern. will the plywood panel in the stern locker need to be removed.
Thanks for the heads-up; I'm going to look at mine. I think you would have to remove that rear panel if it's like the 40.5; as I recall, it is similar. I would think feeding it from the cabin aft would be the way to go, but I think it's a two or three person job. Let us know how it went and good luck!
FWIW I ended up using a junior hacksaw to split the hose at the mixing elbow end because it had a death grip on the on the pipe which has a bulge on the end. Saw along the length of the hose to cut the steel reinforcing. The new goes on much more easily with some liquid soap or K-Y jelly. Do not use a petroleum based lubricants which can damage the hose.
