45CC. Check this out, a friend of mine built a 4 shelf insert and we put it together yesterday and slid it in. It's got 4 shelves which will hold a total of 40 1 foot by 4" trays (5 abreast with a front row and a back row) for what seems like a thousand small parts, glues, tapes, tubes of stuff etc, and a larger area for storing extra pumps, alternator and other larger items. Below this closet is another area that will easily store several tool bags. I was really happy the way it turned out. Eventually there will be a piece on the front of the shelves to act as a lip to hold the trays from sliding out.
Let the inventorying begin!

Very cool. Is the owner not worried about small parts going everywhere in a pitching seaway? Those trays don't look like they have lids.

I don't believe it will be a problem, but we shall see. I think lids can be bought for the trays if I find it necessary

The bits will stay in the trays, as long as you don't fill them past the lip. You'd have to have a knockdown to spill them.
I'm more concerned about the trays themselves sliding back and forth (technically side to side, oriented to the boat). I see a lot of clearance behind the top one.
Then parts would fly.

By the way, good use of space. Or as Aussies would say, "Good on ya, mate".
Washer/dryers are about the most eye-rolling waste of space and energy I've ever encountered on a sailboat.
Wash and rinse laundry in a bucket, clip to the lifelines to dry.
Conventional ovens are next in line, being possibly ever so slightly less redundant.
But wives dictate boat equipment sometimes, and manufacturers accommodate.

Actually not as much space as you think. Two trays set end to end (5 across, 10 bins each shelf) is 24" and the top self is just over 26", then lineal to the bottom shelf to just over 24" I can actually put a piece of wood on the rear of each shelf to make them all 24" to the trays can't move side to side and then place strips of wood on each shelf between the trays to keep them in a "slot" if I find that it's a problem

Yeah maybe but then there's the quiche, casseroles and pizza that need to be made

Did the same sort of thing on our 2002 passage 456 removed the washer dryer and built 4 very strong roll out drawers .
