All I can say is don't buy a motorcycle then you will really be in trouble!
Been there already... Harley Police bike... ALL over Texas, New Mexico, Arizona... to L.A. for a while... this was before Willy G.(for greed) Davidson came back to the fold and with Malcom Forbes and his Capitalist Pigs for inspiration... created the new Harley Yuppie Davidson!
Why sell bikes the working man could afford? smh...
Forced Dealers to up the embossed leathers and Wannabe Accessories departments or else lose their dealership!
I remember the older guy who owned the dealership up in Fairbanks... didn't want anything to do with the 'new ways'... he passed away and his son move the whole lot further into town to an old car dealership... all the bright sparkly Hardley accessories lining the walls...
Yes... he did bring new 'blood' and money into the scene... so, there is that, I suppose....
ANYWAY......... back to boats!

Welcome to my world...
New MFD and radar sitting in the closet ready to install,
Got a new Corvette I haven't even driven yet,
Then got a call from the yard owner where I store my boat. A severe storm came through and dismasted my boat!
Perfect! I needed another project before I launch...

WOW! Sad to hear about the setback with the mast! :(

Not right for the sunset with the girl friend...:badbad:

It is Beam Haul and Close Reach.;)
Jim...
Don't go getting me all mixed up.. I still have some sailing lessons to do!
...scrunched up in a tiny Coronado 15 with the instructor and a couple other students...
Instructor, "So class what are our next 2 points of sail?"
Me (eager to show all my new found knowledge!), "Beam Haul and a Close Reach!"
Instructor... with a slight nudge on my shoulder... backwards... "MANOVERBOARD!"
SPLASH! ;)

Instructor was just jealous to learn you had a girl friend.
Not good when she boards the boat, gets ready for bed, and you are not aware....
WS... Do you have the mast up? Do you have sails? Does the rudder work? If yes to these three questions, you are ready to take the boat out for a short day sail in the inner harbor. Sailing with the boat interior a mess, and no electricity is normal day sailing. The Coronado 15 has no electricity, no place to sleep, cook, play cards, and no space for 4 people, yet you are sailing and taking lessons. So... when you get overloaded with all the possible things you can do to your boat... take a break and remind yourself of the why you are doing all this work... Go for a day sail and recharge your mental batteries. Regarding the boats bottom... most of that will come off with a strong power sprayer. The stubborn stuff needs a scraper. Worry not the living stuff will crawl away.. the remainder is the beginnings of a floating reef, which you will remove to give your boat that sleek look your girlfriend shows walking towards you and your boat.

Thanks!
After the 'Intermediate Sailing' class last weekend, I can go rent their Lasers, Picos, and I believe their C-15's as well.
I have a class coming up... they bill it as their Advanced Sailing class... one day only this time.... on the C-15's again.
I'm going to watch the weather and my pocketbook and see about getting 2 or 3 days sailing in around the bay before the last class.
.
Going to the Yacht Club potluck early May also!
I've been making some great connections there... have a friend and his wife who belong to the club too, who want to sail with me. He currently has a 23' sailboat he says we can go sail on.. but after seeing mine, he really wants to sail with me on it!

One last very important note from me. If the entirety of information (questions and answers) gets to overload levels, then I should suggest that you spend some time with the attached thread. I find peace, serenity and comfort here. Please do start from the beginning. You've got some catching up to do. :poke:

I caught the beginning of that thread a couple weeks ago... but haven't been following it. I think I've seen her pics.
Thanks for the suggestion! ;)

I've found that the best way to deal with the multitude of things my boat needs/I want is to make a list and just keep editing it. I find that a spread sheet is easiest to manage lists but a text document works too. I'd also recommend classifying each "thing" on the list by "gota do it to keep sailing" and "can happen later." Work the gota do list first obviously.
