Cute little chickadee. The robins and cardinals have been announcing spring here for weeks. Now if it would just dry out so I can get Bella ready for the launch!

We had a standing joke down in the BVI's about pelicans. For some silly reason we called them pterodactyls. They would dive all around us catching fish. We get a slew of American pelicans on our reservoir migrating in the Fall.

Some paleontologists believe the dinosaur is not extinct but rather that they evolved into birds. Makes sense to me.

That is a great shot. Is there a back story to go with it?
I'm not aware of one (not my photo). I've had that pic kicking around for many years. the photo caption possibilities are almost endless. :)

Makes sense to me too. They share similar traits. I don't think we thought that deeply. No doubt alcohol was involved.

Russ,
Looks like a Magpie or a Black Wing trying to get a meal from an Eagle.

Looks like a Steller's Sea eagle. We don't have them around here. If my memory serves me correctly they hang out in remote Alaska and maybe western Russia.

Did I mention that we took Tweety sailing for the day last Sunday? (Lost Creek Lake) We also beached the boat for an hour or so in order to take a short (1/2 mile) hike to "Blue Grotto". this creek dries up in summer, and is the first time we've seen it with water. pretty neat spot to take a break this time of year. the falls go over an area of bluish colored volcanic ash. lots of volcanic action was in this area a few eons ago. we often find baseball size chunks of pumice floating around the lake also.
