Small, Below deck fuel tank

I am trying to find a 3 - 6 gallon below deck fuel tank. I want to maximize space in my Trimaran, so I would like to find a small bladder or low profile tank to store below deck to run my outboard motor. It does not need to be big. I only use maybe 3 gallons a season on my monohull, so I imagine I may use less on the Trimaran. The tanks all seem to start at 12 gallons. I can get a small water tank, but a small fuel bladder is ridiculously expensive. I do not want to fabricate it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Andrew

My C27 had 2 five gallon outboard fuel tanks in a well, the well had an opening for the outboard with a limber hole below it to allow fumes to exit thru the transom. Big consideration is ventilation, you may have to have a tank custom made to fit your need.

Below deck fuel tanks need to be vented and you need a blower installed. I had one on my previous sailboat (Balboa 26) and it made me nervous as heck... so I took it out. and installed a fuel well in the bottom of the cockpit well. The "well" sat under the tiller so it really didn't take away any usable space.

Yes. I have a space behind the tiller, an 18"x18" hatch opens above the steering quadrant. It is also a step off the transom. There is space beneath it, so I could store a small tank there. It might even hold a 3 gal tank. I could even install a louver vent above the step.

Thanks for the idea!

I just now did a google search for 3 gallon outboard motor fuel tank and a lot of options came up. Maybe you might get lucky and the dimensions of one of those will fit that 18" x 18" hatch. Easy peasy.

I actually have one! I will check the fit this weekend.
