Hi All - Does anyone have any experience with GREAT CIRCLE SAILS of Marblehead, Mass ?? The sails are built in South Africa. I own a Nonsuch 22 and must replace my sail - soon. I am curious about this company (that seems quite interesting) but I can't find any reviews, owners, etc. I'd appreciate opinions !! Thanks, Ernie A. in Toronto

A Non-Such sail is a bit of a different animal. I would look for a company that has a good track record of building sails for this boat. Check with other Non-Such owners to see who they've used.
For example, on the J 34C I sail on the owner found a sailmaker who did most of the sails for other owners of that boat. He got great sails - for that boat. It was not a famous loft. You'd probably do fine with a name brand loft but there are lofts that are dialed into certain boats.

Good point. In the case of a Nonsuch, overwhelmingly, the owners are heading to Doyle, North and the other biggies. and, they are being charged big-time. And .... I'm hearing some real horror stories. Like " they hear us coming", so to speak i.e. we are a captive audience, etc. As I don't race, I would prefer good service, good products being used and a well-reputed sailmaker who is open to discussion, etc. I'm not afraid to try someone else.
Great Circle isn't a BIG loft (I don't think) and seem to project many of the qualities i'm looking for except that I cannot locate a single "orinary" customer. That's my dilemma.
