Outlets quit working (Oday 28 1984)

Ahoy folks!

So...Last weekend I spend Friday night on the boat to be up and ready for a race on Saturday. Saturday morning around four I awake rather chilly due to the fact that my heater had quit working.

Check the breaker switch, it hadn't tripped at all. Flip it up and down. Nothing. Check shore power cable. Light still on...

Any ideas? (Had to split immediately after the race but, my thoughts are to check connection from where shore power connects on inside of boat and or cable first.)

I am NOT certified for such deployment so, I'll seek adult supervision fer sure.

Any chance the heater had failed ? Any ground fault indicator (GFI) on the outlet ?

Barring that, start at the last indication of power and continue into the boat using a voltmeter (under adult supervision of course).

I had the USB critter charging the phone on the other outlets. I'm sure the heater's fine. Also, plugged in other stuff to confirm.

Thanks for advice.

Check to see if you have a GFC outlet that has popped.

1985 28's had a GFCI on the panel next to the breaker, which would control all of the outlets. If you have the same then like Ralph suggests I'd check the reset button on that. Beyond that it's not that complex of a system so just start checking with the volt meter. About the power light still being on - I did once see the indicator LED stay on even though something had failed on the dock and reduced the AC circuit to just 60V. That was enough to light the LED but not power anything.

+1. My O'Day 322 has the GFI and it has popped before. I actually have 2 GFI's so look at all of the outlets and make sure you know where they are and that they are not tripped.
