What is this part?

So I took down the mast for the first time on my new-to-me 1994 H26 only to find the part in the photo lying midship. It's about two inches long. I have CDI (?) furling. What is it? Where do I reattach it?

I have seen one of those before but for the life of me... I can't recall it right now. Is the hole threaded?

Not sure what it is but I don't think we have anything similar on our cdi ff2. Was anything else getting disconnected or moved? Anything around mid ship? Vang, boom goose neck, toggle for a sail? Could it have come from a block that came apart etc?

I guess that is what I am wondering. I had taken the boom and vang down the day before and had not noticed it on deck. Good to think that it is not the cdi.

I think it might be part of a sail slug block. I have this little knob that has a piece that sort of looks like that... it slides in the sail track and you turn the knob and it tightens up.... and prevents the rest of your sail slugs, and boom from sliding down the track.

It does not have threads on the central hole so don't think it is rgranger's part. I'd think it has something to do with holding a stay in place. Can't tell the size as there is no ruler or other item to get a scale. Not to panic as the stays are clearly not staying in place so if I'm correct this is an extra part that got dropped into the mast but could not be recovered till the mast got pulled.

this thing looks like a stopper that you put into the main sail's track after you attached the sail. it prevents the slides from falling from the track when you drop the sail.

sorry, should have read further ahead.

It looks like the pivot pin from a toggle fitting. Geeze I wish people would crop their photos.

Is a slip neighbor mad at you and just threw a spare part onto your deck?

First it is not a sail slide or slug as some would say stop or stopper. It is not threaded. I believe it is part of the gooseneck so I would check there first to see if it in any way fits in the boom. I do not recall this being part of the rigging either.

It is part of the GOOSENECK. I just remembered some pics I took of rigging etc so I knew how to 'put together' the rigging. Getting old...need all the help I can get :)

I think your boom is a Kenyon isomat product but they are out of business. To make a long story short, look up Sparcraft or go to Rigrite and look at their diagrams as they reference the old Kenyon Isomat.
