Read a joke a while ago. Cops called to a house where a woman had shot her husband for walking on her freshly mopped kitchen floor. Dispatch asks if they had arrested her? Cop radios back- Not yet, the floor is still wet!!
Please tell me where one can purchase the plastic imitation teak material. Thank you!I had some damage to the cockpit floor of my O'day 222 when I purchased it 8 years ago. To cover it up I bought some of the plastic imitation teak for the floor. The product is thick and the pattern is all the way through. It is wearing very well. It is easy to clean with just a hose off and best of all it is as safer if not safer than the non skid flooring. It is a consideration for sole replacement since it never needs refinishing.
Buy a roll of the rubber non-skid "waffle weave" shelf liner...Walmart has it. Cut strips and glue 'em to the back of the rug. That rug will NOT move even if the boat takes a knockdown. I even used it to keep a microwave on a shelf above my dinette and the microwave never moved either. However, powerboats don't heel much, so that MIGHT not have worked as well on a sailboat as it did on my boat. The evil double sided carpet tape is the worst thing. It is thin...very thin, and sticks to everything, more-so than duct tape and gorilla glue
LOL Heels... I have to roll my eyes (can't help myself) every time I see someone get on a boat with high heels. Usually on a powerboat... Just sayinWhen folks come aboard I want them to enjoy themselves. Beyond the really apparent things like street shoes and heels; whatever.
Spider poop. I'm betting you have blue or green sail covers?Still have no clue what the blue green dots were from. If it was blue green algae from the water we are in trouble!
The stuff works pretty darned well on a sailboat, too. Things sitting on it will fall over before they will slide! However, powerboats don't heel much, so that MIGHT not have worked as well on a sailboat as it did on my boat.
*standing ovation*We bought our Hunter 27 for my First Mate daughter and her friends to enjoy and for family weekends while she was in middle school and now in high school. I just take the extra time to clean the sole after sailing and everyone has left.
In less than two years she'll be in college or working and supporting herself. The sole won't need so much cleaning since there won't be so many footprints as there won't be so many people moving about. The sailing won't be as noisy and busy either.
There will just be memories of some really great times for her mom and me. So for now, I'll take the footprints.
That'll keep everything from collecting underneath. Dang Peggie, you're onto something!Next thing, you'll be recommending 5200!
