Sometime this last July in the Broughtons.Looking good Mark. Recent photo? The season is not over, yet.
We were in the cove right above the "w" on your map. There was a 38' power boat high and dry in the passage and tied off to another anchored boat. Finally found its location in relation to Sullivan Bay. Great photo. http://mapcarta.com/24299394
We stayed in Claydon Bay and then cruised into Turnbull which was a bit crowded and decided to go through Kenneth Passage to this little cove. Some great kayaking..That is a beautiful area, did you manage to get into Turnball Cove and hike up to Huaskin Lake?
Whoa! Our flotilla went into Turnbull Cove on one of our cruises a few years ago and did the hike over the saddle to the lake. Did not realize the lake was so large until I just looked at the map again. As I recall there was lots of evidence of the woodsmen dragging the logs out of the lake, over the saddle and down into Turnbull for the trip to market. What a feat. That is a beautiful area, did you manage to get into Turnball Cove and hike up to Huaskin Lake?
Local knowledge has it that Turnbull is foul in some areas due to the logging activity. We didnt see it as that picturesque so we moved on....Whoa! There is a story in Waggoners about one boater who experienced a mini tsunami in the middle of the night resulting from a mud slide into the Cove. I zoomed in to still see where the mud slide occurred. And also the saddle over to the lake and the small dock that was there.
